Emma Stone
Emily Jean Stone, also called Emma, was
born in Scottsdale, Arizona on November 6, 1988. She was the daughter of Krista
Jean Stone (nee Yeager), who is a homemaker as well as Jeffrey Charles Stone
(CEO of a firm that contracts and was its founder and chief executive officer).
Stone is of Swedish, German and British Isles descent. Stone began acting when
she was a kid in Phoenix's Valley Youth Theatre. There she staged her first
production in "The Wind in the Willows" by Kenneth Grahame. In her
teens, Stone was in a variety of other shows until she made acting her career.
Informally, she developed an PowerPoint presentation, backed by Madonna's
"Hollywood" and titled "Project Hollywood", to convince her
parents to allow her to go to school and relocate to Los Angeles. Her mother
and she made the pitch and relocated to LA. The schooling she had taken was
done at home, and she was able to spend her time performing auditions. Her TV
debut came when she was chosen to play Laurie Partridge on the VH1 reality show
In Search of the Partridge Family (2004). The show resulted in a number of
small TV roles throughout the years. After a string of successes in the role,
her appearance as Olive in Easy A (2010) was her first film role. She was a
student at Xavier College Preparatory, Phoenix, Arizona. While she is famous as
a redhead, her true hair color is blonde. Judd Apatow suggested that she alter
her hair color to match Superbad (2007). The actress was so impressed, she
chose to keep the color. At the age of 15, she persuaded her parents to let her
to go to Hollywood through an PowerPoint presentation that was appropriately
named Project Hollywood. When she was 11 years old she started acting in the
Valley Youth Theatre, Phoenix, AZ. There, she was a part of 16 stage
productions as well as in the comedy Improv troupe. Caylee Cowan was also a
part of the Valley Youth Theatre.
