Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born
August 26 in 2002. He is also known as Lil Tecca. The success of
"Ransom," his 2019 single, has helped him become a popular star. His
mixtape debut We Love You Tecca (2019) included the track. It reached 4 on the
US Billboard 200. It also contained the singles "Love Me" and
"Did It Again". The album he released as his debut studio album,
Virgo (2020) which debuted at number 10 on the Billboard 200. It also featured
the Billboard Hot 100-charting singles "Dolly" & "When You
Down". The second mixtape "We Love You Tecca 2", was released in
August 2021. It featured "Repeat It" and "Lot of Me".
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe is the son of Jamaican immigrants. He was born
August 26, 2002 in Queens, New York City. He was raised in the Springfield
Gardens a neighborhood of Queens however, he later moved to Cedarhurst in Long
Island. From an early age, Sharpe had aspirations of playing in the NBA
however, at 12 years old, he turned his attention to pursuing a career in
music. Sharpe attended Lawrence High School. When Tecca was just nine years
old, he responded to his interest in music by rapping with his buddies using
his Xbox. The two would make diss tracks about each other. One was uploaded to
SoundCloud in the past, but it was removed. He initially had no plans to pursue
a musical career although he did dream of becoming a NBA superstar. He began to
pursue music more seriously when having dropped the interest in basketball at
the age of middle school. His debut single, "Tectri", which became
popular in beginning of 2017, was recorded in collaboration and released by Lil
Gummybear. Other preliminary tracks of his include "Callin". A year
later, Tecca's career began to flourish with the hit single "Ransom"
The track was released on Cole Bennett's Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel on
May 22nd, 2019. The song reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The
track has been a hit with more than 900 million Spotify listeners and more than
300 million YouTube views.
