Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born November 18, 1985, in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix had an early aptitude to play sports while in high school at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Her sprinting ability at the time. Felix finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in only 10 weeks following her very first tryout. In 2003 Felix completed her high school graduation signing a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas prior to matriculating at the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. Felix took home her first Olympic Medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set an Junior World Record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. The youngest participant in the 200 meters at the World Championships held in Helsinki in the year 2005. She defended her title the following year, by beating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. She consistently placed in the top three of all events.
